One of the daily routine for Maryam is to write a journal about any topics, such as persuasive writing, writing prompts or anything she want to write about. I will let her write and spell by herself thus you can see her unique spelling (invented spelling). I used to worry but her teacher said it is just another stages of spelling development. Just let our kids write and be a confident writer.
I was excited when the packages arrived at our door, few days ago. We have been waiting for a month to get Amazon to deliver our order. Ok, stop whinning.
Today, I’ve started using Hooked on Phonics Level 4 for Aisyah, and she picked up fast, suprisingly ! I have been using Hooked on Phonics Level 6 for Maryam since a month ago, that I borrowed from Angie which really hooked me on and I decided to purchase the new ones for my kids. The program is more structured compare to other phonics books that I have tried before.
The latest version have been upgraded to DVD with interactive graphics for the kids to learn before they proceed with the lesson book. It also included reward stickers that they will get affer completing each lesson.
Overall, it is a great product i can say.
Who would ever thought that I am homeschooling my kids? Not me. Teaching is not my passion and it was the last thing I want to do in my life. But things change, when we have been lockdown for months and just recently after spring break they have been pulled out the kids from school due to security and safety reason, we left with no option, frustrated and clueless. We have to homeschool our kids with the assistance from school as we need to complete the last quarter of the school for grading and assessment purpose. Once completed, we can choose to repatriate to home country or stay and continue the homeschooling. The later is our option at the moment.
So, here we go the homeschooling journey ! I started to enjoy teaching my kids as they are being easy and cooperative to me 😁 It is not an easy task I can say, juggling between my daily chores, but I am slowly getting into it…with loads of doa and continuous support from my loved ones, InsyaAllah 😊
